Sheet rock!

We are so excited that it’s sheet rock time!

This means as soon as sheet rock is finished, cabinets will be installed, some inspector- required toe kicks will be added to steps and best of all, when these are finished we will also be *DONE* with our contractor!

Oh happy day.

Here’s the view from the front door. To the left is my studio- that wide opening on the right will have French doors that lead to the room addition.

Below is my studio. Ohhhh. Y’all. I can’t even.

I’ll have space for papercrafting, scrapbooking, sewing, machine embroidery and quilting. Pretty much my dream come true. First pic looks toward the front of the house, next pic is facing the back.

And yes, there’s a toilet in the midst. As handy as that may seem, it will be moved into the bathroom as soon as possible.

Now for that room addition.

It’s 44 X 14. Why? Because Ninja Man wanted a huge porch. Once we mapped that out, he decided it needed to be cooled and heated and include a bunch of windows. What we have now is somewhat of a multipurpose room. We can host church things like Bible studies or get togethers and I can have crafting classes there. It’s pretty cool to consider what all we can do with such an uninterrupted space. And we can also close it off, so yes, we will have windows looking into the room from the kitchen and dining areas.

Because we turned the “two bedroom” end of the house into my studio, we have only one bedroom, the master. It’s small, but we have a nice bathroom connected to it. The tub is deep and the shower large, so it will be just right for us.

I can’t wait to start working on this place. I mean, our daughter, son in law and Ninja Man and I worked our tails off in the beginning when we thought it was a basic renovation, but since then we have had to rely on a less than average contractor. Grrrr.

Either way, this has definitely taken months longer and cost more than we anticipated but when all is said and done, we will have a very unique and custom home just right for our lifestyle.

And chances are, it will be ready in a matter of six weeks!

I’ll post again soon so subscribe if you’d like to follow Six Little Acres.

God bless!
