Today at Six Little Acres

Y’all.

The walking path is going to happen!

We have the estimate and the little orange flags, so it’s official.

In celebration of said walking path, I put on these boots. and headed out. Boots because I’m really not fond of snakes and Six Little Acres is a very happy place for things that go slither.

We don’t have the path – yet – but I found some beautiful places in our walk about today.

Here’s where the path will begin. Those little orange flags on the ground are in the center of what will be the path. Meanwhile, here are some shots around the house. I’m not gonna brave those woods until there’s a 12 foot wide path and an equalizer, so stay tuned for the walking path edition!

The figs are ripening!

And our brave warrior Wren. She is “stable” but we are still praying for a cure. Due to some life changing experimental meds, she’s able to enjoy being a Little. And THAT is so big.

Thanks for stopping by Six Little Acres. God bless.

The next project: a walking path

I’m pretty excited to share that we are planning a serene walking path at Six Little Acres.

Here’s a video to give you an idea of what we want to do. We are getting estimates on clearing out. Hopefully it’s affordable! Stay tuned!

Lately at Six Little Acres

It’s July 4 and we are winding down from what can only be called a wonderful day.

We had a task filled morning, he working in the yard while I worked in the EBR (the Emotional Baggage Room).

Daughter and family live here with us and they had a fun day seeing friends before coming home late afternoon.

With everyone home, Ninja Man surprised the Littles by setting up their kiddie pool. The water was nice and warm by the time they put on their swimsuits.

Ninja Man also had a barrel fire going the entire day, burning stuff like boxes (I kept sending them out) and branches. He is increasing our outdoor living space and reclaiming some land from the heavily wooded area beside the house.

As the sun began to set, Ninja Man had yet another surprise for the Littles; an outdoor movie. The water was a bit chilly by then so the girls enjoyed Ice Age in reclining lawn chairs.

Here are some pictures from the day. Nothing fancy, just the way we do things here. It’s been a sweet, sweet day and we are thankful.

Wren and big sis Phoebe Jo played for hours in the pool.

This child’s hair, y’all. Straight out of the pool- my mother would say she has “ringlets” and rightly so. Ninja Man’s outdoor movie. It was such fun. We have four zero gravity outdoor lounge chairs and also camp chairs so everyone was very comfy.

It’s been a sweet day, and so very blessed. Wren is still in treatment (meds for 3 years) but she is stable and able to do anything she wants. It’s an awesome thing considering where we started. See her story on Facebook at Hope For Wren. Purple and pink icon.

Six Little Acres is also on Facebook, visit to see extra content.

Hope your July 4th was great, and thanks for stopping by. God bless.
