Lately at Six Little Acres

It’s July 4 and we are winding down from what can only be called a wonderful day.

We had a task filled morning, he working in the yard while I worked in the EBR (the Emotional Baggage Room).

Daughter and family live here with us and they had a fun day seeing friends before coming home late afternoon.

With everyone home, Ninja Man surprised the Littles by setting up their kiddie pool. The water was nice and warm by the time they put on their swimsuits.

Ninja Man also had a barrel fire going the entire day, burning stuff like boxes (I kept sending them out) and branches. He is increasing our outdoor living space and reclaiming some land from the heavily wooded area beside the house.

As the sun began to set, Ninja Man had yet another surprise for the Littles; an outdoor movie. The water was a bit chilly by then so the girls enjoyed Ice Age in reclining lawn chairs.

Here are some pictures from the day. Nothing fancy, just the way we do things here. It’s been a sweet, sweet day and we are thankful.

Wren and big sis Phoebe Jo played for hours in the pool.

This child’s hair, y’all. Straight out of the pool- my mother would say she has “ringlets” and rightly so. Ninja Man’s outdoor movie. It was such fun. We have four zero gravity outdoor lounge chairs and also camp chairs so everyone was very comfy.

It’s been a sweet day, and so very blessed. Wren is still in treatment (meds for 3 years) but she is stable and able to do anything she wants. It’s an awesome thing considering where we started. See her story on Facebook at Hope For Wren. Purple and pink icon.

Six Little Acres is also on Facebook, visit to see extra content.

Hope your July 4th was great, and thanks for stopping by. God bless.

  1. So nice to hear from you and about how your family is doing. Sounds like you had a great 4th of July! Believe it or not, it actually/ really/ can’t believe it rained here (on and off through out the day) in Central Texas. However, by the time night arrived, it hadn’t rained in several hours, so the city was able to hold its 4th of July fireworks display.
